Ancestral know-how

Madagascar raffia is a unique natural fiber from the palm tree. Handcrafted by Malagasy artisans, the fiber is used as a raw material for basketry, including baskets, handbags, hats, decorative accessories, etc.

Each of Mademoiselle Rose's creations contributes in its own way to protecting the environment by promoting and enhancing a 100% natural and biodegradable fiber.

Raffia can be worked by hand using various techniques such as weaving or crocheting, giving each piece a unique finish. For example, the design of a crocheted bag takes about 5 days and that of a hat 2 days.

As with all materials, recycling is at the heart of Madagascar's crafts and leather is no exception. The latter comes from the Zebu, the island's emblematic cow.
